Getting us out

What areas of Auckland do you cover?

+

We cover greater Auckland, from Dairy Flat in the north down to Drury in the south — more than 120 suburbs, including the North Shore, west Auckland, central suburbs and south and east Auckland. If you are not sure whether you are in range, give us a call and we will tell you straight away.

Can you come out the same day?

+

For most jobs, yes. We hold space in the run for urgent work. If we genuinely cannot get to you the same day we will tell you when we can, rather than leave you waiting.

What are your working hours?

+

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Urgent work is fitted into those hours wherever we can — if you call early with a burst pipe or an overflow, we will do our best to get to you the same day.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

+

A travel charge applies per visit, based on how far the job is from our base. On-site quotes and drain unblocks already include it. The current zones and charges are listed on our rates page.

Pricing

How do you charge — hourly or fixed price?

+

Repairs and maintenance are charged by the hour, billed from when we arrive on site rather than from when we leave the depot. Larger work such as renovations, cylinder replacements and new installations is quoted as a fixed price so you know the number before we start. All published rates exclude GST.

Do you give free quotes?

+

For quoted work we visit the site, look at the actual conditions and put the price in writing. There is a charge for the on-site quote visit (with the travel charge included in it), which we tell you about upfront. For simple jobs we can often give you a good idea over the phone or by email from photos, at no cost.

Will you tell me if something does not need fixing?

+

Yes. We would rather rule out the cheap cause first than replace something expensive that was never broken. It is common for us to check the least destructive possibility first even when it makes for a smaller invoice.

What we do

Are you licensed and certified?

+

Yes. We are PGDB-registered certifying plumbers, certifying gasfitters and certifying drainlayers. That means we can carry out and certify the work ourselves, including sign-off where a job requires it.

Do you do gas work as well as plumbing?

+

Yes. Because we hold plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying certifications in the same team, a kitchen job that involves removing a gas cooktop and reconnecting the plumbing is one visit and one point of contact, not two trades to coordinate.

Do you install hot water cylinders and heat pump cylinders?

+

Yes — electric, mains pressure, low pressure and heat pump hot water cylinders, including replacements of failed units and upgrades from low pressure to mains pressure. We will size the cylinder to the house rather than swapping like for like without asking.

Do you do bathroom and kitchen renovations?

+

Yes, we do the plumbing and gasfitting side of renovations — cap-off, rough-in and fit-off around the builder and cabinetmaker’s programme, plus the final connections and testing.

Do you unblock drains?

+

Yes, including jetting and CCTV camera inspection where we need to see what is going on underground. If a blockage keeps coming back, the camera usually explains why — a broken pipe or a chamber that has failed will not stay clear no matter how many times it is cleared.

Rentals & insurance

Do you work with property managers?

+

A large part of our work is rental maintenance. We accept work orders, contact tenants directly to arrange access, and send reports with photos so the manager and owner can see what was done.

Do you do insurance work?

+

Yes. We document jobs with photos as a matter of course, which is often what an assessor ends up relying on. If you have water damage, photograph everything before anything is cleaned up or pulled out — that record is worth more than it looks.

After the job

Do you guarantee your work?

+

Yes — every job is backed by our 12-month workmanship guarantee. Manufacturer warranties on appliances and cylinders are separate and usually longer; we will tell you what applies to the product going in.

My hot water stopped — is that a plumber or an electrician?

+

It can be either. Plumbers own the cylinder and the pipework; electricians own the power supply to it. If the cylinder is only a few years old and the water is stone cold, an electrical supply fault is more likely than a failed cylinder — especially if there has been recent electrical work such as a meter or switchboard upgrade. We will tell you which side of that line your problem is on.
